C-Day

Woke at
7.30 a.m. Morning routine.

Met the
girls at Bettina’s at 9 a.m. and got to work. We still had half the analysis
and the strategy to go through today. The level of detail that we had
implemented was followed also today.

We went out
for lunch around noon. I went up to Kowloon Ice-house and ordered from there.
As I sat waiting for my food, I couldn’t help be amused by the interesting choice
of music in the restaurant. A selection of traditional American Christmas songs
came blasting out of the speakers as if they were the latest chart toppers.
They are bonkers, these Chinese.

After another pleasant lunch in a garden pavilion,
we returned to our computers and continued working. Through, hard work, perseverance
and vast quantities of sugar, we managed to go through the rest of the paper and
called it a day around 9 p.m.

Over the
last 50 hours we had trimmed the paper by cutting away over 4000 words and tightening
the language to near perfection. Every source has been identified and quotes
checked.

I returned
to my room, had myself a beer and relaxed a little with an Episode of Boston
Legal. In bed at 11 p.m.
